Outbound calls

Daffy Voice places calls from your own numbers. You choose who to call and when; the AI employee does the talking.

Three ways to place calls

  • Campaigns — upload a list and Daffy Voice calls everyone on it within your calling hours, with retries. See Campaigns.
  • Workflows — the same calling, plus what happens after each call: callbacks, transfers, and results sent to your tools. See Workflows.
  • Test calls — on an AI employee, open the test call dialog, choose Phone Call, enter your number and click Start Phone Call to hear it on a real phone. See Testing.

Which number the call comes from

Every campaign has a calling number — the caller ID people see. It must be one of your numbers on Phone Numbers with an AI employee attached.

Optionally add Backup numbers to a campaign. Calls then rotate across the main number and the backups in turn, so no single number makes every call and gets flagged as spam.

Voicemail detection

Turn on Voicemail Detection (Beta) on the AI employee's Flow tab to hang up automatically when a call reaches voicemail. Those calls show as Voicemail in the campaign's results and aren't retried.

Twilio and Plivo only

Voicemail detection works on Twilio and Plivo numbers, not on SIP trunks. It adds a small per-call detection fee from your provider and a delay of about 1–4 seconds before the AI employee speaks.

Busy trunks

On a SIP trunk, calls are limited by Max calls at once. When the trunk is full, the next call waits about 30 seconds and tries again, without counting as a failed attempt.

What happens if nobody answers

Busy, unanswered and failed calls can be retried later. Set how many tries and how far apart in Calling hours, retries & callbacks.
