AI employees
AI employees
An AI employee is the voice your customers talk to. It answers or makes calls with its own name, voice and script, and it can look things up in your documents while it talks.
What an AI employee is made of
- Name and greeting — the greeting is the first line it says, word for word, when a call connects.
- Script (the system prompt) — who it is, what it should achieve, the facts it may use and the rules it must follow.
- Voice — the voice model and voice it speaks with, including Hindi and other Indian languages.
- Knowledge — documents it answers from, such as a price list or FAQ.
- Call behaviour — what it does when the caller goes quiet, when it hangs up and whether it can transfer the call to your team.
Draft and Live
Every AI employee starts as a Draft. A draft can be edited and tested, but it does not take real calls. When the script and greeting are filled in, press Go live on its page to switch it on. You can switch it off again at any time with Take offline.
Calls need a phone number too
To take or make phone calls, an AI employee also needs a phone number attached to it. Until then you can still talk to it in your browser. See Phone numbers.
Ways to create one
Open AI Employees in the dashboard and press Hire an AI employee. You can start from your website, describe the job in plain words, or build from scratch. You can also ask Daffy.
